The 5 colleges

The SWMI is structured in five colleges, according to the professional activities of its members. Joining the SWMI means joining one of these colleges. If the attachment to our professions justifies this division, it is indeed to cross, sharpen and shift our views that we like to meet.

Business college

For company employees who wish to become vectors of social innovation for their teams or colleagues, the SWMI offers a place for reflection and exchange, for breathing and inspiration. The SWMI Business College is composed of executives, directors, HR practitioners and managers from private and public companies.

Social innovation is at the heart of many future challenges. In our opinion, it is by valuing and stimulating the quality of work that autonomy, performance and well-being are developed in our organisations. This quality work that employees are committed to is a source of performance, efficiency and development for individuals and organisations. At a time of digitalisation and robotisation, it is crucial to value human knowledge through the collective and collaborative dynamics of the organisation.

College Trade unions

During the 20th century, trade unionism was more focused on the envelope around work (wages, working time, etc.) than on the content, meaning, purpose and organisation of work. Bruno Trentin, the remarkable Italian trade unionist, has analysed this very well in his book “The City of Labour”. Over the past 10 years, the main French trade unions have turned their attention to work, and, in particular, to its quality, as a key aspect of their activities.

The SWMI, with its 5 colleges, is a formidable place for exchanges, innovations and experimentations around the reality of work. Work is considered to be the major guideline of what should be politics with a capital P. It is something that fully satisfies the trade unionists who participate and those who want to discover it.

College of Researchers

The College of Researchers brings together researchers who intervene from various scientific backgrounds (ergonomics, work psychology, adult education) in professional environments by focusing their attention on the work and activities of professionals.

College of Consultants

The College of Consultants brings together a number of people involved in supporting learning and changing processes: consultants, trainers, occupational therapists, preventionists, work psychologists and psychosociologists. They all share the common goal of placing the analysis of real work at the heart of their support.

They work for agile and learning organisations: living organisations, regulated by talking about work. They are convinced that every professional at work should be able to: develop his or her activity and initiative; enrich his or her skills; and be recognised for the effects he or she produces on the objects, tools and recipients of his or her action. Thus, recognising the right to health and promoting the power to act of every individual at work, whatever his or her speciality and workplace, opens up a path to economic performance and social development for both the individual and the company.

College Partners

What brings the members of the College Partners together? To be professionals and leaders belonging to a wide variety of worlds, for whom the issue of work in society is essential: health, local authorities and public institutions, the mutualist world, management schools, architects, lawyers in labour law, specialised journalists, designers, etc.

The advantage of taking part? To benefit from very rich exchanges both within a particularly diverse college and with the four other colleges. This gives meetings and work a unique singularity and richness, linked to the exchanges and confrontations between actors with very different experience and status.
